Scott Bestul posted a really cool video on Field and Stream’s Whitetail365 blog. The video is of 2 bucks on their hind legs going at it in a fight. Bestul points out that we all know bucks are likely to brawl during the rut but deer also “work out dominance issues year-round; biologists feel that the pecking orders established when bucks are in summer bachelor groups save deer from wasting energy by engaging in non-stop brawling during the breeding season.”
That may explain why many of our “Grow the Hunt” readers have captured photos of deer like this one that was recently uploaded to the photo gallery by Todd Radmer. If any of you have cool photos like this, be sure to upload them to the photo gallery.
